Welcome to The Steve Thami Foundation
The Steve Thami Foundation was established in Nairobi, Kenya as a nonprofit-making social and child
rights community-based organization. The organization was founded by two philanthropists, Steve
George, a medical practitioner, and Fidelis Thami, an accountant by profession in 2018. Their
initial aim was to provide education to two less privileged children in the village of Awendo,
Migori County. As they continued to provide support to these children, they realized that many other
children lacked proper basic needs and protection of their child rights.
By the end of 2019, the number of supported children had grown to nine, and the philanthropists had
to help them access proper basic needs such as repairing their damaged houses, buying clothing and
footwear for them, and feeding them during the Covid-19 outbreak period. In the last quarter of
2021, the number of children demanding assistance grew tremendously, and the two philanthropists
were forced to seek assistance from friends and family. This became an unsustainable approach to
solving the growing number of problems and numbers of the less privileged children. Therefore, the
two opted to register a charity organization, Steve Thami Foundation which will enable them to
widely seek donor funding from well-wishers and philanthropists who will be willing to be part of
their dream to help the growing number of less privileged children.
