About Steve Thami Foundation

Here's more about our objectives...

1. Schools

The schools will be to benefit those children who cannot afford to be in school due to school fees and other school requirements. Our main aim is to provide all the school amenities required for a conducive learning environment to them and to give them an opportunity to be educated regardless of their financial capability. The school will enroll all children in the available foundation orphanage and those in the care of their guardians who may not be able to afford to put these children in school.

  • According to the primary level requirements for schools, the government of Kenya requires a minimum of two acres of land for a school in rural areas and an acre for those in rural-urban setting and at least half acre for co-curricular activities. The secondary level requirements should occupy at least ten acres of land.
  • Our vision is to have a primary level school occupying at least twenty-five acres of land as classrooms and seven extra acres for the co-curricular activities.
  • The secondary level school is envisioned at least forty-five acres of land for the classrooms and the dormitories and an extra ten acres for the co-curricular activities.
  • The tertiary institution will occupy thirty-five acres of land with most courses being the technical studies to enhance self-employment among the young generation.

2. Children's Home

We envision starting to accommodate those vulnerable children that we have already identified as lacking caregivers (guardians) and the number to grow with time. We envision the children’s home to occupy at least thirty acres of land. This will consist of the dormitories, the nurseries, playgrounds, dining area and the staff quarters. For the employed caregivers, they will have the staff quarters near the home for easier access to the children dormitories.

3. Home of the aged

Most of the villages in Kenya have the aged who have been abandoned by their relatives, who have relocated to the urban areas. These Aged persons are languishing in poverty and most of them do not have access to medical care due to their condition. The Foundation seeks to establish a home for these persons especially so that they can have access to medical care and basic needs. We envision a fifteen-acre land will be apportioned for this. The Aged rarely move around much, so they don’t occupy much of the space. This includes the dormitories and a rest area which will also be a visitation area for the aged. The staff quarters will also be available for the caregivers in the same compound for easier accessibility.

4. Hospital

Proper and affordable healthcare is a big issue in the country. The death rate is high due to lack of access to proper medical healthcare. This is a menace that needs to be addressed and it is one of our biggest projects that we hope to establish in the foundation. We envision the hospital to have the following specialities:

  • Maternity wing
  • Outpatient wing
  • Inpatient wing
  • ENT (ear, nose and throat) wing, i.e., Otolaryngology wing
  • Paediatric wing

5. Talents, arts and sports clubs

The country is starting to embrace talents as a way of livelihood and Steve Thami Foundation will be a big supporter of talents for all children and youths. This is an upcoming field in our country and the few sectors that are supporting it are not enough thus, this foundation will also take part in supporting this field by providing the arenas, clubs, talent nurturing activities, equipment and trainers throughout the calendar year for those willing to nurture their talents. To support this initiative, we have envisioned the space required will at least occupy a thirty-seven acre land. Among others, it will consist of:

  • Sports field e g, football, netball, volleyball, basketball, tennis and other ball games etc.
  • Music building
  • Horse riding
  • Art creative building
